By Christine Gralow By popular demand on Twitter, below is the downloadable document leaked by a former Tulsi Gabbard presidential campaign volunteer, which contains a list of individuals aggressively targeted (and in some cases harassed and defamed) online by Gabbard campaigners. The list was created and disseminated to campaign volunteers by Scott Gahres (aka Garris), a long-time Gabbard social media advisor. ![]()
Gahres disseminated this "Twitter Operatives" Excel spreadsheet in the private "Team Tulsi Online Volunteers" group on Facebook, which currently has about 1,000 members. The official Gabbard presidential campaign website refers supporters directly to this Facebook group when they sign up to volunteer. When questioned by Meanwhile in Hawai'i and other outlets, Gabbard's press team tried to distance her from Gahres, stating he is just a volunteer. But Gahres' direct ties to Gabbard are clear in the Facebook group, as well as in his campaign email signature and official Gabbard campaign email address. Gahres, a Hawai'i resident, has in fact done social media work for Gabbard for years on Facebook, Twitter, and Medium. A large majority of people currently working for Gabbard's campaign are either unpaid workers or freelancers. (See 4-24-19 Daily Beast article.) In the Facebook group, Gahres has hosted regular "Twitter strategy" conference calls and has instructed volunteers to target specific Twitter accounts that have posted information unflattering to Gabbard. Gahres' instructions to Gabbard's online campaign volunteers include blocking accounts on the list, "then reply(ing) so they cannot reply to you." Gahres also instructed campaign volunteers to create multiple accounts and "use one account to talk to other account and create hype and conversation." Gahres' apparent social media hit list includes journalists, LGBTQ rights activists, Syrian democracy activists, Indian citizens critical of Gabbard's ties to Modi, and Native Hawaiian leaders. Topping the list is Intercept reporter Mehdi Hasan, who has been critical of Gabbard and currently has over 647,000 followers on Twitter. At least six accounts on Gahres' target list are currently suspended by Twitter, including @riotwomennn and @bravenakblog. The "Twitter Operatives" spreadsheet and information from the closed Facebook group were leaked to Meanwhile in Hawai'i by a former campaign volunteer who wishes not to be named for fear of retaliation.

Nice. A Presidential campaign is targeting my Twitter account. I hope it gets more exposure.

I believe it will. I'm sorry your account was targeted.

How dare Volunteers set up a private group? There has been no instruction for targeting of any kind. Simply sharing information about accounts known to spread disinformation that needs defense. I would bet that this comment will be moderated, but just in case it's not... #TULSI2020

Mahalo for confirming your knowledge of the existence of the #TulsiGabbardEnemyList and your perspective on how it was used for "defense," [email protected]. I have seen no indication that anyone takes issue with volunteers setting up a "private group". It is the #TulsiGabbardEnemyList that many people seem to find troubling, as well as Scott Gahres' instructions to online volunteers in the closed Facebook group to target accounts on the list by creating multiple Twitter accts and blocking accts on the list, yet still tracking and responding to them from fake accts. If you have further details on the use of this list, please do be in touch.

Thank you for doing this work, Christine. The Gabbards have long been a sinister influence in Hawaii.

Thanks Jerry. Just remember, not all Gabbards are involved. Sina Gabbard has actually been speaking out against corruption.

So, I recently volunteered for her campaign and I never received an invite to join a Facebook group or a private group, I may have missed it but can you redirect me again how you concluded to that? Or is it like just a select few that receive that Facebook invite?

Jose, Please see second image in article. This is a screenshot of an automated email that was sent to people who signed up to be online volunteers for Gabbard.

Hi I'm Michael from New Jersey I'm not with the Russians and I'm not with Trump I am merely on a truth-quest. I became interested in the legends behind Tulsi's name in late May and have been studying everything I could find. Once in a while, I make some breakthroughs and I need to re-read everything all over again.

Hey I’m trying to read the rest of your comment but I can’t see it, is there something up with the site, I can only read the sentence ending with “something jumped out at me...”

I guess there's a limit on how long comments can be. If you're the same Michael J. Britt Jr. from Twitter, you've had some interesting posts.

Yes, my Twitter acct is on the list. Also see all mentions of "Chrissy" in the notes. They seemed quite concerned that other ppl's accts were mine and that ppl were sharing my tweets. I have one Twitter acct - @realchrissyg.
